Mauritius boasts a vast network of private healthcare facilities across the island, with the two largest private hospitals – Wellkin and Clinic Darne – conveniently located in the centre. Many doctors and specialists consult and operate out of both hospitals, as well as often having private consulting rooms in other areas of the island.

There are also a variety of smaller private medical facilities scattered across the island for convenience, many of which offer emergency care, blood labs and radiology, as well as general consultations.

Should you require medical insurance, there are a number of local insurance companies that will be able to assist you. Many hospitals have a pay-and-claim policy for small claims but will pay the hospital directly for larger claims.
