Education
Mauritius boasts many private international schools at both a primary and a secondary level, spread out across the island. Most schools offer either a British curriculum or an international curriculum, with certain secondary schools offering the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB) at higher levels. Both the IGCSE and the IB are externally set and marked qualifications, with the IGCSE certified by the University of Cambridge and the IB allowing students to complete university-level courses while still attending secondary school.
Due to the international nature of the education of most private schools in Mauritius, credits are easily transferrable should the students move to another country.
Mauritius also offers a wide array of international tertiary institutions, most notably British Middlesex University in the west and Australian Curtin University (Charles Telfair Campus) in the centre. Both offer a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate courses and degrees. Along with these, there are numerous other international and local universities and colleges, ensuring school leavers are spoilt for choice.

Locate and contact schools well in advance, as many private schools have substantial waiting lists.
